AgroMetSchool 2025 Kicks Off in Ancona

The AgroMetSchool, 5th Edition just started this morning in Ancona, hosted by Department of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences D3A of the Polytechnic University of Marche.

The opening session of the School marked the official welcome to the participants, with introductory remarks by:

  • Prof. Davide Neri, Director of the Department of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences (D3A), Polytechnic University of Marche
  • Gen. Luca Baione, Permanent Representative of Italy to the WMO
  • Prof. Branislava Lalic, Leader of the COST FAIRNESS Action (CA20108)
  • Prof. Gabriele Cola, Vice-President of AIAM
  • Dr. Marina Baldi, Coordinator of the WMO Regional Training Centre in Italy

Dr. Andrea Salvucci opened the keynote session with a lecture on salt accumulation in cultivated and abandoned dry soils in the context of climate change, and on strategies to mitigate the effects of salinization.
